Just because a job advert is asking for someone more experienced then you does not mean that you should not apply for the job.
When I first saw the ad for a particular job I did not think I would have a chance at getting the position, because it seemed to be asking for someone with significant experience, and I have not yet worked in my field of study.
But I applied anyway, because the job was in an area I particularly wanted to work in.
I am so glad I did, because they obviously decided my experience was not too lacking and they interviewed me. In the interview they mainly focused on the experience I had acquired while at university. Don't undervalue what you do at university, it is not just about getting a degree, it is also about learning the skills which employers are looking for
So, yeah, I got a call today, and let's just say I am very glad I applied for that job.

How to clean your room.
I finally cleaned out my room today.
I had been meaning to do this for ages, but somehow whenever I got started I would only complete a small amount before being distracted by something else. And so junk piled up here and there, in any space it could find, the floor, the desk, the spare bed.
What one really needs to get ones room clean is motivation. And today my motivation is very good, my friend is coming to stay the night.
So all that junk on the spare bed needs to be moved. Now that is all gone, my floor looks like a mess. Why not sort out all that junk on my desk while I am at it.
Ah, much better now.
Is it still called a sleepover when you are an adult?
Wait, that sounds dodgy. >.>
In other news, I have had two interviews this week. I would prefer to be offered the second position I went for, and they should be getting back to me first, which I am pleased about.
I am now having to undertake psychometric testing for both potential employers.
Fun and games.
My room still needs a vacuum, so I will go see if I can find one.
Toodledoo for now.

The Search for Work.
Recently I began to look for my first real job. This is a scary adventure that we all must face at some point in our lives. Jobs do not land on our laps just because we graduated from university.
To anyone who is looking, or shall soon be looking for work, be warned, looking for work does take up a lot of time and energy. There is truth to the statement, that it is a job looking for a job.
My first day of job hunting was taken up pulling together a rough draft of my CV for the type of work I am looking for. The next day I acquired some expert help on how to improve my CV, and then spent several hours following up on her advice until I had created a CV I was proud of. I spent the rest of the day writing a cover letter and submitting my first application to a potential future employer.
For each new job I've applied for I have used the same CV (with some minor changes), as most of the jobs I am applying for are looking for the same skill set. However, for each job I write up a cover letter from scratch which can take several hours.
So far this work seems to be paying off. I have been called back by four potential employers, three of them in the past two days.
So now I seem to be in the second phase, preparing for interviews.
I better start preparing,
Dew.
